Cut those bills with the right thermal barrier paint
Do you want to dominate the construction or home improvement market? Let whoever you serve cut their costs by bringing efficiency to their facades. With the SCT thermal insulation paint, residents and tenants can forget about top-dollar temperature control systems. This product results in up to 40% less energy used to keep the indoor environment comfortable.
Certified to TSE K 127, the SCT thermal paint is a resin-based, elastomeric substance of the cold climate type with a large set of properties. Think excellent sunlight absorption, vapor permeability, heat transfer coefficient, and affordability — all intertwined in a box of thermo-shield paint. As a forward-thinking team, we’ve done our best at the research and testing stages to drive the product to perfection on both the water and thermal resistance sides.

As a forward-thinking team, we’ve done our best at the research and testing stages to drive the product to perfection on both the water and thermal resistance sides.
The non-fading, water-based paint shows equally great results with interior and exterior applications. Another thing behind its efficiency is the use of vacuum microspheres and ceramic-reinforced elements to reflect the rays it catches and prevent water from getting through it.
Why get the SCT thermal reflective paint?
As if 40% less in heating and cooling expenses isn’t enough, this thermal paint is up for over 80% sun ray reflection from the roofing. Other key features behind the thermo-shield paint include:
low-cost application and maintenance
excellent radiant heat resistance
wall mold protection
water and sound insulation
fire-resistant properties
To bring all this to a facade, the SCT thermal barrier paint should be adequately prepared and applied with a compatible primer. Which one to use depends on the type of surface. You can’t go wrong with our anti-rust primer if facade elements are made of metal, while our universal primer is a perfect undercoat for other surfaces. For both options, you’ll need to dilute them 1:7 with water and apply 0,1-0,2 kg/m2 or 0,250-0,350 kg/m2 of the universal and anti-rust primer, respectively. Four hours is long enough for the undercoat to dry.
Unlike the primer, the thermal paint doesn’t need to be diluted and works best in a layered coating, whether for indoor or outdoor applications. Two to three layers are the gold standard for roofing, siding, and other exterior uses, while 1-2 coats are perfect for interior projects. The best practice is to apply a subsequent layer perpendicular to the previous one after letting it dry for at least 4 hours.
What’s more, the thermal paint can be shipped in any color. It’s now easy to match the curb appeal you’re going to use it for!
Technical specifications
If energy consumption impacts your or your customers’ budget, this thermal insulation paint is a boon to smooth out the effect as soon as the coating is evenly applied and dry. Rated at Class II, it’s permeable to vapor and is formulated to the < 0,1 Class W3 for water transmission. The product has an outstanding surface heat transfer value of at least 0.8 ? that equals its sunlight absorption. This makes its thermal characteristics second to none, along with a high heat conductivity coefficient of 0.023, λ<0.060 W/mK.
Thermal and humidity effects never wreak havoc on this paint as it has 0.0495 ± 1,5 % RS surface resistance, rated to Class II for wet abrasion resistance, and develops no cracks or flakes after exposure. It doesn’t require additional crack covering and carbon dioxide permeability agents while being the Class A0 and Class C0 product.
For density, pH value, and viscosity, the following applies to this paint at 25°C:
0,85 ± 0,10 g/mL
7.0-9.0 pH
12500-13500 mPa.s
The solid content of this thermal reflective paint is 53 ± 2% by weight with the Class S2 grain size. What allows it to perform well as a protecting coating is that it falls into Class I covering power and Class E5 DFT (dry film thickness). It also has high adhesive strength of ≥ 0.8 N/mm2 for filling gaps, as pull-off tests show.
Three packaging options are available for this thermal paint:
5 L
10 L
18 L
If you’re using it for indoor applications, 300 mL of the paint can be good for one square meter. But more of the product is required for outdoor applications like siding or roofing. You’ll need to apply 1 L/m2 or 2 L/m2 to ensure 1-mm or 2-mm thick coatings on exterior surfaces.
